Reiki Is Love

It is not merely a technique, nor a series of hand positions on the body. Above all, it is a quiet recognition: we are, in our essence, immense love.

Yet, many times, we live disconnected from this truth. Life becomes filled with routines, demands, and habits that wear us down, and in this constant movement, we forget who we truly are. Self-love, which should be the foundation of our existence, is pushed aside, almost silenced by days that are simply too full.

Self-Reiki as an Invitation to Self-Love

Self-Reiki is an invitation to bring that love back into our awareness.

It is a simple gesture: placing our hands on the body, with calmness and presence, and saying, without words, something like:

“I am here. I am with you. Allow me to care for you.”

When this care begins, something very gentle starts to move within us. It is not a sudden change, nor a demand, but a deeper listening. And through that listening, self-love returns.

When Self-Love Returns

And when self-love returns to our awareness, everything changes naturally.

Not because we force ourselves to follow rules, but because, suddenly, it no longer makes sense to treat ourselves poorly.

It no longer makes sense to nourish our bodies with things that do not truly nourish us, but instead weaken us.

It no longer makes sense to feed negative thoughts that only repeat old stories of pain and guilt.

It no longer makes sense to remain in relationships that drain us and require us to silence who we truly are.

It no longer makes sense to stay in connections where love becomes obligation and presence becomes absence.

Self-love is not something we speak about endlessly. It does not shout. It does not demand.

It simply happens, and when it does, our choices begin to change.

Not because we have to become better, but because, suddenly, we become kinder to ourselves.

A Daily Gesture of Kindness

Self-Reiki is this daily gesture of kindness.

It is a moment each day when I allow the love that already lives within me to be felt once again.

It is a moment in which I say to my body, my mind, and my heart:

“You are worthy of care. You are worthy of love. Above all, you are immense love.”

And when this is repeated, day after day, something truly beautiful happens:

Reiki begins to be lived not only as a practice, but as a way of being in which I no longer separate myself from myself, from you, or from the world. A way of living in which self-love and love for others meet, without boundaries.

Reiki Is Love

So, when someone asks:

“What is Reiki?”

The simplest answer, and perhaps the truest one, is:

Reiki is Love.

And we have always been that immense love.

Self-Reiki is simply the gesture that helps us remember.

Just for today, I am kind.
