A Library Is Not Made of Pages. It Is Made of People.

As Mundo Reiki completes its first few months of existence, it has invited me to pause.

Not to look at numbers, statistics, or metrics.

But to look at people.

When this project was born, there was one very clear idea: to create a library where Reiki would remain at its center, engaging in dialogue with other areas of integrative care without losing its essence or compromising the quality of its content.

It was an ambitious dream.

And, like every ambitious dream, it could not be built alone.

Today, I realize that Mundo Reiki’s greatest asset is not the number of published articles, nor the number of readers, nor even the fact that we are already reaching people in different countries.

The greatest asset of this library is the people who chose to share what they have learned throughout their lives.

Every article published here is born from the experience of someone who has studied, practiced, taught, cared for others, faced challenges, gathered discoveries, and chosen to transform that knowledge into something meaningful for others.

At a time when technology makes it possible to produce thousands of texts in just a few minutes, we chose a different path.

We have not turned away from technology. It is part of our daily work and also helps us build this project.

But we believe there is something no tool can replace: human experience.

Artificial intelligence can organize information.

It can suggest structures.

It can help review a text.

But it has never cared for a client.

It has never guided a student’s journey.

It has never carried the responsibility of leading a Reiki initiation.

It has never witnessed, over the years, how a practice transforms people’s lives.

That lived experience is where the knowledge we seek to preserve truly comes from.

That is why, at Mundo Reiki, every author writes in their own voice.

We are not trying to standardize ideas.

We do not want everyone to write the same way.

Quite the opposite.

We value different perspectives, different life stories, different cultures, and different ways of understanding care.

It is precisely this diversity that transforms a collection of articles into a true library.

Today, this shared endeavor brings together contributors from different regions of Brazil, as well as Portugal, Argentina, and Canada.

We are honored to count on Reiki Masters such as Guara Borges, Justino Pereira, Fátima Cunha Velho, Cecília Farahte, Nahuel Mugica, Lucia E. Simada, Adriana Santos, and Estela A. de Oliveira, who, alongside my own articles, help strengthen Reiki as the heart of this project.

This library also continues to grow thanks to professionals such as Rosana Guiné, sharing her expertise in Acupuncture; Candice Lara, in Feng Shui; Fernanda Gimenez, in Naturopathic Sciences; Elissandro Ferreira, in Tai Chi Chuan; Kalone Kienda, in Qi Gong; Sheila Reame Vital, in Yoga; Letícia Giovelli, offering reflections on the climacteric, Bach Flower Remedies, and women’s integrative care; and Janete Mello, who gives voice to Mundo Reiki through our podcast.

Each of them brings a unique perspective to the same purpose: sharing knowledge that welcomes, guides, inspires, and promotes integrative care.

Reiki remains the center of this library.

And it always will.

But over these past months, we have learned that caring for a person also means recognizing that knowledge does not exist in isolation.

It connects.

It complements.

It grows stronger.

It is through this respectful dialogue between Reiki and other integrative practices that Mundo Reiki has found its identity.

When I first imagined this project, I dreamed of building a library.

I never imagined that, in such a short time, it would be built by so many hands, so many stories, and so many hearts.

Perhaps that is the greatest gift Mundo Reiki has received.

A library does not grow because it accumulates pages.

It grows because it brings together people willing to share what they have learned throughout a lifetime.

That is exactly what we are building.

And this is only the beginning.
