Knowledge, discipline and presence: the journey of Elissandro Ferreira

The tradition of Tai Chi Chuan has endured for centuries, preserving a body of knowledge that integrates movement, awareness, discipline, and the cultivation of vital energy. At Mundo Reiki, this tradition is now represented by Elissandro Ferreira, Instructor (Laoshi) of the Wu Chao Hsiang School in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
With eight years of immersive experience, Elissandro is dedicated to teaching the theoretical and practical foundations of Tai Chi Chuan, sharing the essence of an art that goes far beyond physical movement. His training was shaped under the guidance of Master Venceslau Cardozo and Instructor Maria Correa, important references within his lineage.
In addition to his work as an instructor, he also contributes to the development of the discipline as an official referee, helping strengthen and promote the practice.
His background in Design has given him a refined understanding of aesthetics, precision, and fluidity of movement. He is currently pursuing a degree in Physical Education, expanding his knowledge of biomechanics and enhancing his teaching methodology.
For Elissandro, traditional wisdom and modern academic knowledge are not opposing paths but complementary ones. Their integration supports a responsible, well-grounded, and accessible practice for people of all ages and experience levels.
His work aims to develop physical balance, mental focus, body awareness, and the harmonious circulation of vital energy (Qi), promoting health, serenity, and self-knowledge.
Elissandro Ferreira’s arrival at Mundo Reiki expands the dialogue between integrative practices that share common values such as presence, respect, discipline, and whole-person care. In the coming articles, readers will explore the foundations of Tai Chi Chuan, its philosophy, and its contributions to contemporary life.
