Article 2 — Chicory: the love that learns to let go

⏱️ Reading time: ~3 min · Mundo Reiki

Love has always been one of a woman’s greatest strengths.

To care, to nurture, to be present — these qualities often arise almost instinctively.

But throughout life, love can become mixed with other layers: expectation, emotional dependency, fear of loss.

And this is where the energy of Chicory becomes so meaningful.

Chicory speaks of deep love… yet one that may sometimes express itself through attachment.

Its presence in nature tells this story beautifully: a plant that stretches outward, firm and expressive, seeking connection and occupying space — almost as if trying to ensure closeness.

During the climacteric phase, when relationships begin to change — especially with children and family dynamics — this emotional pattern may intensify.

A woman may experience:

• a desire to keep everything as it once was
• difficulty accepting the independence of others
• sadness when she no longer feels needed in the same way

And beneath all of this lies something profoundly human: the fear of no longer being important.

Chicory does not judge this movement. It embraces it… and gently transforms it.

It teaches that love does not need to hold tightly in order to exist.

That it is possible to love deeply… while still allowing others to follow their own path.

With the support of this flower remedy, something begins to soften:

• the need for control gradually dissolves
• expectations become lighter
• the heart opens to a freer way of loving

And then a new kind of relationship emerges.

Less rooted in need… and more rooted in conscious choice.

A love that does not demand return, because it already sustains itself from within.

Complementary section — Reiki, attachment, and energetic flow

Within Reiki practice, this pattern may also be perceived as an excessive direction of energy toward others, often leaving the woman emotionally depleted.

Through Reiki, a woman begins to strengthen her own energetic center, realizing that caring for others does not need to happen at the expense of abandoning herself.

Reiki helps reorganize this energetic flow by:

• welcoming emotions
• reducing internal tension
• encouraging presence and balance

Little by little, love stops meaning control.

And begins to mean conscious presence.

“In Reiki, love is not understood as possession, but as flow. The more balanced the inner energy becomes, the freer and healthier relationships tend to be.”
